It’s my turn to leave soon.
I’ve learned that every beginning is hard in a different and physical dimension^^.
I’ve learned that not only in training but in life you are responsible for your own luck and that that often only means opening up your eyes and recognise the incredible things and people for what they are. In this context I also learned that the best things in life aren’t things.
You are doing good! You are training every day, you are trying and therefore you are doing good. In one of my earliest posts I wrote this and now at nearly the end of my journey I come back to these sentences.
Maybe you expected more of your development or you really wanted to learn this one thing or that form or that flip, but honestly: don’t worry. That is the good and bad thing about learning: You are never really done with it and if you remember to try hard you will know: Just because you take long doesn’t mean that you failed.
If I want to get as good as I was dreaming of when I boarded my plane on the 20.06.19 I definitely need to come back here some day. But that’s okay. You know why? Because I am on my own way and if I feel I should come back, I will.
This place here is my home as long as the amazing people keep coming and the shifus simply keep doing what they have proven to be incredibly good at and I am well aware of my luck to feel this content about a place so far from my original and first home. It really is all about the people. Honestly: You know you are home when someone knocks on your door with chocolate, because he saw the faintest sign of sadness on your face.
Find your road and understand and recognise how you fulfill your dreams along the way and dreams you never knew you actually had. Most of the time it’s very different from what you expected.
And the unexpected things are the very best of all.
Don’t judge, time cannot be owned and you are always a tiny bit stronger than you think you are.
From what I understand societies around the world are so different it’s hard to use one word for all of them but these days many of them profite from your self-doubt. May it be through psychologists or from your fear of trying something unknown. In a society like that liking yourself is a rebellious act ;).
Tolerance. Take it with you where ever you will go, you will need it.
So far this post sounds like a wild mixture of calender sayings and wise words^^. So I will add a cheesy note at this point. I will dedicate an entire post to my gratitude in the very end of this little adventure, but a short thing right now: Thank you to my best friend at home. You have been supportive all the way and when I write ‘Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter’ like in my very first post, it definitely also includes you. I know I didn’t send you a little message every day as a Christmas Calendar like I planned on doing so this post is a little compensation for the 09.-14.12. 😉
“One life. Just one! Why aren’t we running like we are on fire towards our wildest dreams?” ~unknown
PS: We may live in a school for martial arts, but it certainly didn’t look strict and disciplined yesterday when we mopped the floor while listening, singing and dancing to corny Christmas songs ;).
